Samdae Guksu Hoegwan (삼대국수회관 三代麵條) is renowned for their pork noodle soup though not as famous as Sisters Noodles for various reasons.
Like Sisters Noodles, they offer two versions of noodle soup - pork broth and anchovy broth (Myeolgo-guks).
As expected, there weren't too many customers around at 3:30pm.
Mulmandoo (13,000 won) - Loosely translates to "water dumplings" and certainly wasn't bad. I like the sprinkle of black sesame on top.
Gogi-guksu (8,000 won) - I was really looking forward to this bowl of pork noodle soup which came with the usual sliced pork, chopped scallions, carrots but no seaweed flakes.
Sadly, I found the broth slightly bland for my heavy taste buds. It was nothing like the one served at Sisters Noodles.
Gukbap (8,ooo won) - I ordered the noodle soup with anchovy but what ended up showing up was Gukbap, a traditional Korean dish of pork and vegetable soup mixed with rice.
It was served in a sizzling hot pot. Again, I found the soup a little watery and lacking flavors. The pork was a little chewy as well.
This wasn't the good outing I was looking for but we didn't have the time to whine about it. Instead, we're making a final push to Jeju Port, which will be our last attraction before heading to the airport.
