But like a cat with nine lives, we still have one more chance for glory, before we leave Jeju City tomorrow morning.
Yes, there’s a Baekmidang cafe on the ground floor of Maison GLAD Hotel. Rejoice!
The menu looks very similar to the one in Hong Kong but there are way more seasonal items here.
For at least 5 minutes, my server and I were struggling to understand each other. All I could understand from her was that my favorite handmade milk (ice-cream) tiramisu was sold out.
Turned out, they have an English menu. Why didn’t she bring it out in the first place???
Milk ice-cream with fresh white peach (6,500 won) and Milk ice-cream with fresh melon (6,500 won) - These would cost at least twice as much in Hong Kong so everyone jumped all over them. Baekmidang’s rich and creamy milk ice-cream obviously works well with most fresh fruit and these are no exception. Very refreshing for the palate especially on a humid and rainy night like tonight.
Jeju matcha shake (5,800 won) - The shake made with their glorious soft ice-cream certainly didn’t disappoint but I thought the puff rice ruined the whole thing. Very weird texture.
Now that we have finally got this out of the way, everyone is ready to crash. We are going to need a good night of sleep because hiking at Hallasan will be the first bit of business tomorrow morning.
