Café Knotted Dosan Park (Seoul, SOUTH KOREA) ★★★★☆

Café Knotted (카페 노티드) is a cake shop and café I'm very familiar with due to my frequent visits to Gangnam (and Dosan Park) but I have never been a frequent customer.

I love a cafe that's bright and airy. Yes, the tables are a little bit close to each other but I can live with that as long as they keep their end of the bargain (by keeping up the same quality and quantities of cakes).



As a cake shop, they are very very good. With over 20 decadent desserts on the menu, there's always going to be something that suits my mood.



Now if it's really that good, why didn't come I more often, you say? Well, that's because a lot of those pastries are actually available at another favorite cafe of mine, On ne sait jamais in Hannam-dong.



But today when I walked past Café Knotted, I noticed something strikingly different (on the window) that prompted me to go straight in. Two words to sum it up - "Fresh Donuts"!



Everyone knows I'm a donut junkie so of course, I have to take a closer look myself.



Freshly made donuts with about 10 different flavors, that sounds too good to be true!



Milk cream, red bean, raspberry, blueberry, Nutella, Earl Grey, Jolly Pong cream, kaya butter and vanilla. Okay, that's 9 different flavors in total.



Freshly made donuts are meant to be eaten fresh so I decided to find myself a seat at Dosan Park to thoroughly enjoy this round fried dough.



Kaya Butter Donut (3,500 won) - A picture-perfect donut with filling of kaya butter custard. I'm really looking forward to this.



I can tell it's really spongy.



This was really really sumptuous. It's almost like having kaya bread.



Earl Grey Donut (3,000 won) - They've put a dab of Earl Grey cream on top to distinguish between other flavors.



Again very spongy (or pillowy). I noticed there was more custard there comparing to my Kaya Butter donut which was really amazing.

It's going to be difficult to pick a better one out of two seriously yummy donuts but if I have room for only one donut, I'll probably pick the Earl Grey donut because the tea flavor was surprisingly pronounced (and I love Earl Grey tea!). 

These were way better than what was offered at Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme. I'll definitely come back for more.
