Our scheduled flight was on time for a change so we had to scramble to finish our breakfast at Beef and Liberty in time for boarding.
I’ve been to Beef and Liberty a number of times but it’s my first time having brunch here. Needless to say, I was a little nervous. Nervous not because I was worried about the way our breakfast dishes might turn out but more about their timely delivery.
Avocado and ricotta toast (牛油果、茅屋芝士吐司) ($99) - This came with smashed avocado, ricotta and parsley on a sourdough toast. Not bad but it would’ve been much tastier if the avocado wasn’t ice cold like it had just come out of a freezer.
Hong Kong Breakfast Toastie (香港早餐多士) ($79) - The thick-cut toast was topped with cheese, ham, fried egg, parsley and a rich bechamel sauce. To add a bit of local twist to the dish, they decided to hide some macaroni in between the toasties underneath the cheese, but that was met with mixed reviews to be honest (weird!?).
To my pleasant surprise, we managed to finish eating 15 minutes before our boarding time. I guess we’ll be on time after all.
