I have been missing out on a lot of good doughnut shops on this trip due to our hectic schedule. Before we took off for Seoul, I had many of them pinned on the map in my Naver app but most of them never made it to our travel itinerary except for Café Knotted. This afternoon in Sinsa, I had to make sure that Old Ferry Donut Garosu-gil (올드페리도넛 가로수길점) is part of our agenda.
Inspired by the popular doughnut shops in New York City, the first Old Ferry Donut opened door in 2016 with the mission and vision of crafting some of the best donuts with the freshest dough, carefully selected ingredients and delicious flavors.
Just 6 flavors on the menu today (love the 3D menu!) Pink Matcha, Chocolate Crunchy, Blueberry, White Chocolate Sesame, Earl Grey and Cinnamon Sugar but they were all sold out my server said! 😭😭😭
But wait, they have one off-menu doughnut still available – Butter pistachio. Thank you, God! Butter pistachio doughnut, you're my lifesaver.
Little nugget couldn't wait to take a bite out of my doughnut.
So, we rushed upstairs to the dine-in area.
Butter pistachio Doughnut – The doughnut came with a butter scotch glaze and sprinkle of shaved pistachio on top.
It was also full-filled with buttery pistachio cream in the middle.
This wasn't bad. The pistachio butter was really silky smooth but I thought it lacked the nutty pistachio flavors.
Old Ferry Donut is just a few steps away from one of my favorite bakery cafe in Garosu-gil, OUR Bakery. It's a shame that with only less than 15 minutes left, all hope is lost for a return visit to my favorite bakery cafe.
