Billy Angel Cake Company Yeouido (Seoul, SOUTH KOREA) ★★★☆☆

Next up on our list was Billy Angel Cake Company, a cake shop and café that Jelloman and I used to frequent when we visited Seoul in the past. I thought little nugget might remember his first-ever visit to its Hongdae location back in 2016 when he was 5 months old but nay.....

Naver map was giving us the impression that this Yeouido branch of Billy Angel Cake is situated inside IFC Mall but after consulting our new friends from 1964 Baek Mi Dang (百味堂), we found out that it was actually inside a building just across the street (I think called BNK Finance Tower) from the IFC Mall.

Not that difficult to find I suppose!!!

Disappointingly, they have trimmed down their selection of cakes by a considerable margin since we last visited. No more carrot cakes or green tea red bean cake. Thankfully, some of our favorite crepes cakes are still around.

Same for their blueberry cheesecake.

This is a very spacious café and I could only wish that the cake shops in Hong Kong offer the same airy space like we have seen here. 

Rainbow crepe cake – We have literally seen the "birth" of this crepe cake here and how it took the dessert scene by storm. It's still pretty soft and fluffy with all the wonderful flavors coming together nicely.

But its size has noticeably shrunk a lot over the years. 

Coconut crepe cake – I am guessing it's a new creation here, a new breed of crepe cake. We haven't been back to Seoul for more than 3 years so anything from year 2020 on is new to us, right?

I thought this was just OK. The flavors were very very light and I wasn't sure if the shredded coconut was necessarily a good match with the layers of crepes.

To my pleasant surprise, the building that houses Billy Angel Cake Company here, is also home to some of my favorite restaurants and cafés including Brooklyn The Burger Joint and Twoppul Korean barbecue. Too bad little nugget wasn't feeling well so we had to cut our exploration short.
