After spending much of the afternoon in Anguk (安國), we decided it was time to depart for one final destination before we head back to Myeongdong to start packing for tomorrow morning's flight. Since there was a Line Friends shop in nearby Insadong (仁寺洞), we opted to make it our final stop of this trip. After all, it was just a 7-minute walk from where we were hanging out.
Turns out the Line Friends shop was a disappointing experience (so small!) but we managed to salvage the situation by finding CCOT (담장옆에국화꽃), a Korean dessert cafe specializing in red bean desserts and shaved ice in the same building.

Annyeong Insadong is a cultural, entertainment and lifestyle hub in the heart of Insadong with numerous galleries, cafes, and shops; and CCOT was one of the cafes there that caught our eyes. Since we have yet to enjoy any Danpatjuk (Sweet red bean porridge) and Patbingsu (Korean red bean shaved ice) on this trip, the timing was perfect.
A beautiful and modern surrounding to enjoy some traditional desserts. I love this!
Time to make our choice, sweet red bean porridge or Korean red bean shaved ice.
Both looked like pretty good choices if you're into desserts with red beans.
Korean sweet red bean porridge – They serve two kinds of red bean porridge here; one that's unsweetened and much thicker in texture almost like a purée and then a sweetened version that's more soupy like our Chinese-style red bean soup.
I decided to take the former since it came with chunks of red beans. This was OK but I found it way too filling for me (and not sweet enough). The glutinous rice balls were a bit boring without any sweet fillings.
Korean red bean shaved ice – Jelloman had the shaved ice with red beans, and what I thought were rice cakes and slices of dried dates. I would have ordered this if not for the chilly weather today.
