After allowing ourselves some shopping time in Myeongdong's walking streets, it was time to venture back to our familiar territory of Namdaemun for dinner. I had things all figured out a few months ago already and it's going to be grilled meat tonight all the way.
Hongsan (紅山) Myeongdong is an upscale Korean barbecue restaurant just a few steps from where we had Korean fried chicken two nights ago. When I said upscale, it doesn't only mean that the place has an interior design that's appealing to diners but also implies that it charges a premium for its prized Korean beef. Since we wanted a little bit of privacy tonight, I have already reserved a private room at a pretty reasonable price (I thought).

Some vegetables and condiments were already sitting at the table waiting for us before we placed our orders.
And something to spicy things up for those of us in need of some extra kick to our meat.
But I prefer the sweet soy with chili and egg yolk.
It was time to get the charcoal grill ready.
As the food menu was only in Korean, I figured the safest bet was to simply order the beef platter. This came with different cuts of beef and pork belly as well.
Before the meat was pronounced ready, we first enjoyed a sip of piping hot soup made with radish and pork bones. It was the perfect hearty soup as the weather was still relatively cold in Seoul this week.
At this point, the short ribs were almost ready to be served 😍😍!
One could never go wrong with perfectly charred meat!
The tenderloin were beautifully executed thanks to your truly's capable hands. So gooood!
I have to say, the pork belly and marinated upjinsal weren't nearly as delicious as the other cuts. I liked their crunchiness but that was about all there was to it.
As expected, we paid a premium for these high-quality Korean beef but location-wise, Hongsan was the best option out there as it was just a short stroll back to our hotel.
