Cafe Nudake Seongsu 누데이크 성수점 (Seoul, SOUTH KOREA) ★★★★☆

We have one final destination to nail down before calling it quit in Seongsu-dong. Cafe Nudake is an artistic dessert brand under the same ownership as Gentle Monster, a luxury Korean eyewear brand which has taken the Asian market by storm in recent years. When their museum-like café in Seongsu (누데이크 성수점) was featured in one of the TV shows a few weeks ago, Jelloman already gave me the heads-up that perhaps we should be paying this place a visit. So, here we are.

We needed to be really focused to finally locate the entrance of the café.

There seemed to be another dimension hidden behind this door. I was curious to find out more.

    

My heart was pounding when I pushed the door open and sure enough, there was the artsy and hipster Cafe Nudake hidden on the other side.

Predominantly in black and white color, the café combines art with coffee in a breathtaking setting surrounded by Roman sculptures and art pieces.  

Apart from their coffee, Nudake also offers a wide variety of innovative and artistic pastries with their mockups in full display so diners could visualize how each item looked like when they're served up.

Sesame latte – A black sesame lover's dream comes true with this sesame latte drink. Even the ice cube was flavored with sesame. 

Pieta – Soft yuzu cream and cheese cream mousse cake with a crispy crust for added texture. Not bad. Little nugget absolutely loved it since it reminded him of his cartoon characters.

Tart Moon – I like this a little more than the previous cheesecake cuz there was actually some design to it.

The hemisphere shaped tart had almond cream filling inside the creamy wasabi mochi ball. I thought the squid-ink pastry on the bottom was a pretty nice touch as it added this sweet-savory element to the dessert.

We didn't get to sit with the Roman-style sculptures; not that little nugget really cares as long as he had his youtube cartoons! 😆😆😆
