Pâtisserie Sadaharu AOKI Paris (Tokyo, JAPAN) ★★★★☆

We're enjoying another relaxing afternoon to kick off this trip. Following our teppanyaki lunch in Roppongi (六本木), we took a slow walk to the nearby Tokyo Midtown to check out a few things on the spot.

While everyone went to a bakery shop to hunt for our breakfast tomorrow, I immediately headed towards Pâtisserie Sadaharu AOKI Paris for some sweet treats.

It's been a while (almost a decade!) since I last had something from this highly coveted patisserie by world renowned patissier Sadaharu Aoki (青木定治).

It didn't take long for me to find something I like.

We decided to find ourselves a place on the terrace to enjoy the sweet treats.

On a windy day like today, there weren't many people seated on the terrace facing Tokyo Midtown Grass Square (東京ミッドタウン芝生広場).

First, it's time to enjoy some macarons. Earl Grey, salted caramel, wasabi, vanilla and violet framboise.

I love the rich Earl Grey tea flavors.

Fraisier (1,048 yen) –
The dessert features a stunning layer of fresh strawberries nestled within a light and creamy diplomat cream filling. This is sandwiched between two crispy biscuit dacquoise, adding delicate textures to the mix. Finally, there was the raspberry confit to balance the sweetness of the strawberries and diplomat cream.

Not bad. This suddenly reminded me of a similar cake from Pâtisserie ease which I thought was slightly better.
