First introduced in 1991, Tokyo Banana has since become a beloved souvenir and treat for tourists visiting Tokyo. The brand is best known for its unique and delightful flavor as well as charming presentation.
Its Tokyo Station location is one of our favorites as we frequently travel through the JR train station.
Not only does it have a section dedicated for its souvenirs, it also has a take-away counter for its sweets. Well, more than just sweets.
For the last two years, it has been offering two kinds of "doughnuts", one savory (with curry wagyu) and one sweet (with banana and red bean paste).
Curried beef doughnut (356 yen) – I had the pleasure of having the sweet one in 2023 and now I'm eager to satisfy my craving for the savory one.

What I love most about these doughnuts are the crispy crust made with what I thought was breadcrumbs. It was perfectly matched with the soft, fluffy dough and creamy curry sauce with diced beef. It's a unique combination that's definitely worth the stomach space.
