It's the midway point of our trip and everybody knew what the schedule-maker (yours truly) has in store for us, a little bit of sightseeing to kick off the second half of the tour. Before hitting the first attraction of the day in Asakusa, it was time to fill our tank first.
There was no real reason why I picked Tempura Akimitsu (天麩羅バル秋光 浅草本店) as our lunch venue today, other than the fact that online booking was available on Tabelog. That was easily done with just a few clicks.
It looks like that the restaurant has everything electronized. Like its online booking, the food and drink menus can also be navigated with just a few clicks.
Oyster – One of the chef's recommendations and I thought it was less fatty than most Japanese oysters we grew to love.
Ebi tendon – This came with two types of prawns (tempura and deep-fried) and three types of vegetables (pumpkin, snap peas and eggplant).
Apart from the prawn tempura, what I love most about this tendon was the soft-boiled egg which was perfectly done with a runny yolk.
Tempura Akimitsu Asakusa is just steps away from Sensō-ji (浅草寺), an ancient Buddhist temple which has been a very popular tourist attraction for decades. It's little nugget's first time here so he was really looking forward to it.
Of course, he's even more looking forward to his next activity, dinner at the adorable Pokémon Café.
