After a pretty filling afternoon snack that was primarily KiKi's crab roe noodles at K11 Musea, we decided to spend some time at the harbour front to soak up the Christmas spirit. We walked around Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade a little to catch some of the Christmas lights and decorations from across the harbour.
And next thing we knew, we were already stepping towards BluHouse at Rosewood Hong Kong.
But no, we were not there for dinner. I have to admit, I am not a fan of this place. Way too busy and way too overpriced (like most HK restaurants). Instead, we were aiming for a sweet treat for everyone. Little one would be having his usual Venchi gelato while yours truly took on a traditional tiramisu from BluHouse's kitchen.
We decided to park outside the Italian restaurant and admire the scene with boats pivoting along the harbour; all that as we indulged on our sweet treat. Little guy loves his gelato. He always enjoys having gelato in the cold.
For me, it's my first experience with BlueHouse's tiramisu. I thought the texture was perfectly foamy but the flavors were a little more on the bitter (and bland) side. I won't mind a little more sweetness in there if my cardiologist doesn't know about it.
While we were sitting there, I told my little one that walking along the harbourside used to be our own way to enjoy Christmas back as a kid. The famous Christmas lightings in East Tsim Sha Tsui. There weren't all that much our parents were willing to do for us. No special trips during the festival season and no big feast. It's a different era now and we are all a little spoiled as Hongkongers. And I think we should be very grateful about that.
