Glacier Perrière (Annecy, FRANCE) ★★★☆☆

Heavy traffic has turned a two-and-a-half-hour trip from Roanne to Annecy into a standstill (at one point). By the time we arrived in Annecy's Old Town, it was already a good 4 hours since we left the legendary La Maison Troisgros. That left us with less than an hour of daylight. We scrambled around the Old Town as fast as we could and managed to hit a few spots before the night was finally upon us. Now, we could finally enjoy some gelato at Glacier Perrière, one of the more popular gelateria in town.

I like the service here. Servers are always alert and looking to help!

They have around 20 flavors here. Tiramisu, chocolate, chestnut, pistachio, coffee....

At the end of the day, there's no other flavor I would like to have than pistachio! I am so addicted...

To get a sense of how hot tonight was, look no further than my cone with pistachio gelato. Just less than a minute since I stepped out of Glacier Perrière into the heat, the gelato already started melting.

Annecy was something else. Unlike the bigger towns we visited along the French Riviera, this was so quiet that you could almost hear the sound of the floating water.

Walking around this picturesque town felt like living in a fairy tale. Too bad it might be a little difficult for us to find another chance to visit this dreamy hidden gem again.
