Eggs 'n Things Mitsui Outlet Park Shiga Ryuo 三井アウトレットパーク滋賀竜王店 (Shiga, JAPAN) ★★★☆☆

I thought we spent way too much time wandering around Mitsui Outlet Park Shiga Ryuo (三井アウトレットパーク滋賀竜王) that would have been better spent elsewhere. By the time we wrapped up our shopping spree, it was already 6pm and we had to scramble for a quick meal before leaving the outlet mall for Lake Biwa (琵琶湖).

Luckily (or unluckily depending on how you look at it), there weren’t a ton of dining options here which actually made the decision making a lot easier.

Egg 'n Things have always been on my radar screen thanks to its wide range of locations across Japan.

I have always seen it as a nice option for breakfast but dinner would be a totally different ball game.

Pina colada (1,180 yen) – I decided to introduce little nugget to a virgin pins colada tonight as he was looking for a frosty drink. It’s probably not the most thirst-quenching drink on the menu but I thought it’s time he tried something new.

Avocado shrimp salad (1,580 yen) – A fresh garden salad topped with creamy avocado, juicy shrimp, tomatoes, and a nice sprinkle of parmesan cheese. Light, refreshing, and just what we needed after walking around all day.

Loco Moco (1,280 yen) – Who doesn’t like Japanese hamburger steak, raise your hand! 🙋🏻‍♂️

This beef patty was pretty tasty and it definitely worked well with the fried egg and gravy-like sauce flavored with peppercorn.

Bacon, zucchini and mozzarella egg Benedicts (1,880 yen) – Savory bacon meets tender zucchini here, with a layer of vibrant tomato sauce and fresh basil paste. 

It was finished off with creamy bread eggs and melty mozzarella cheese on top. Very addictive stuff.

The food menu features a variety of dishes with Spam, but unfortunately we didn’t get to try any of them. Yeah, we always have a soft spot for spams!

Well, it was starting to get late. Time to hit the road again and there’s a 30-minute drive ahead of us before we could finally check into our hotel.
