As the only morning person in my family, I’ve always enjoyed the rare luxury of having the early hours to myself and this morning was no exception. Instead of scrolling through my phone and wrestling with the urge to stay in bed, I decided to venture out for breakfast.
Coffee Kan Osaka Honten (珈琲館 大阪本店) is located just a few blocks from our hotel and the fact that it opens 24 hours a day, makes it a great breakfast spot.
As a solo diner, I naturally gravitated towards a seat at the counter. There’s something comforting about quietly watching the world stir to life from a corner of a quiet café.
Breakfast set (950 yen) – The set came with ham, scramble eggs, two slices to butter toast and a small salad drizzled with yuzu vinaigrette.
Simple but satisfying. Not bad.
Of course, no morning is complete without a caffeine fix. The royal milk tea here was a surprisingly strong one. I ordered this expecting something mild and comforting but it turned out to be a little more robust. Made with Earl Grey instead of the more commonly used Ceylon, it had a distinctive character, elevated by the tea’s fragrant, almost floral aroma.
It was a quiet half an hour I rarely got to experience back in Hong Kong. A quiet moment to unwind, reflect, and ponder about life. Things that truly matter.
P.S. Like I said earlier, This branch of Coffee Kan is open 24 hours a day. They offer light meals such as spaghetti Bolognese which are perfect for those looking for a late-night snacks in the area.
