Situated in the residential part of Aix-en-Provence, Renaissance Aix-en-Provence Hotel is a 5-star establishment that seamlessly blends contemporary elegance with Provençal artistry, just a short 10-minute walk from the city centre.
After enjoying a memorable lunch at the three-Michelin-starred L'Oustau de Baumanière in Les Baux-de-Provence, we arrived in Aix-en-Provence just before dinner time. Check-in was smooth, allowing us to settle into our room without much of a hassle.
A little further away from the city, the hotel is a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle. Our room features two double beds which is exactly what we needed for a good night of sleep.
The hotel boasts an inviting in-house spa that includes a heated indoor pool, steam room, sauna, and treatment cabins. Too bad, we didn't have the time to check them out personally.
The bathroom was a spacious one that carried a charming Mediterranean touch.
I was told that the hotel showcases more than 400 original artworks throughout its guest rooms and suites, and here's one of them.
Without delay, I checked out the city view from our windows.
But not much to be seen there.
The hotel is also renowned for its outdoor swimming pool, but our vantage point revealed that it wasn't open in the morning. I guess an early-morning swim was unfortunately off the table.
We had a delightful 18 hours in Aix-en-Provence but it was time to hit on the road again. Tonight, we will be walking the red carpet in Cannes.
