Krispy Kreme Passage du Havre (Paris, FRANCE) ★★★☆☆

This is not exactly how we draw it up but after checking into our hotel, we took some time to freshen up before hitting the ground running. Everything was going according to plans but on our way to breakfast, little nugget spotted a Krispy Kreme shop just inside Passage du Havre (a neighborhood shopping mall near Lazare Station). Despite our best effort to convince him that we’re going to have egg benedicts not doughnuts for breakfast, he refused to listen so at the end of the day, this became the first meal of our trip. 😂

OK, it was a snack, not an official breakfast.

Fortunately, it wasn't difficult to find a seat inside Passage du Havre to indulge in these delectable fried dough.

Pink (€2.80) – Little one insisted that he wanted this doughnut with a simple strawberry glaze 🍓. Well, this wasn’t something to write home about. 

Paris by night (€4.10) – Well, this was something. 🗼 A little sweetness for the 2024 Olympics and obviously, they’re keeping it until the end of August.

"Paris by night" is a new doughnut launched exclusively for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The dough, filled with runny salted butter caramel, was nicely decorated with a chocolate and caramel glaze along with a chocolate Eiffel Tower to mark this very special occasion.

I took a couple of bites at this before passing it along to little one. As someone with a sweet tooth, I thought it was even sweeter than I first expected. The dough was absolutely soaked with salted butter caramel and the deep flavors woke me up instantly like a cup of strong coffee. I guess for someone who hasn’t slept much in the past 15 hours, it’s not a bad way to kick off the day.
