We managed to crash at 9:30-ish last night so by 8:30am in the morning, everybody was already awake and ready for action. Instead of having breakfast at the hotel lounge, we were feeling adventurous this morning and the plan was to catch a breakfast spot in the proximity. Thanks to Google Map, we were able to locate Café Marco Polo, one of the few restaurants nearby who’s open this early.
Right before breakfast, we spotted this ancient building next to Café Marco Polo on Rue Saint-Lazare. It must be at least a few hundred years old.
There were only a few souls on hand when we arrived at our breakfast spot. As a result, we were able to enjoy a bit of privacy at the corner.
English breakfast set – This came with a stone cold croissant, some buttered bread, bacon and egg, and a drink. It wasn’t the best breakfast I've ever had in France but enough to get us through the morning.
For one of the sets, we had this yoghurt with raspberry coulis, croissant, brioche and crepes with some seriously sweet fruit jam.
Bacon and egg, with a garden green. Surprisingly, we ended up fighting for the salad rather than the bacon and fried egg.
My second hot chocolate as many days.
We walked past this café on our way out and back to our hotel quite a few times and it was always full during lunch and dinner. Perhaps they are just not focused on doing breakfast (staff was very friendly) but too bad, my rating would be solely based on our breakfast experience.
