When it comes to sweet treats, the streets of Paris are always full of pleasant surprises.
Opened on Île-Saint-Louis back in 2022, Pâtisserie Tourbillon is the brainchild of pastry chef Yann Brys, a Meilleur Ouvrier de France (MOF, or “best craftsman in France”) award winner, which is one of the highest culinary honors one can get in France. Some of the other notable MOF winners included the late Joël Robuchon and Paul Bocuse among others.

This is the second location of Pâtisserie Tourbillon after the first one (flagship?) already established in Saulx-les-Chartreux. Like its first shop, it offers a variety of products including pastries, chocolates, candies (even gummy bears!), ice creams and sorbets.
Carré Tonka (€6.9) – The "Tonka Square" consists of crunchy hazelnuts and pecans, soft hazelnut biscuit, chocolate caramel and tonka bean cream, and milk chocolate mousse.
Every single bite came with an enjoyable explosion in the mouth thanks to this combination of textures and flavors. In fact, this tasted like a pastry version of Ferrero Rocher, in a refined way.
There were a few other pastries worth taking a shot at but since the day was still young, I decided to reserve a bit of room for my adventures ahead. Until next time then~
