L'Atelier Terre & Mer (L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, FRANCE) ★★☆☆☆

We are starting our day in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, a picturesque town in southeastern France known for its charming canals and antique markets.

I was immediately dealt with some headaches after we arrived in
L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. First, there was a problem finding a parking space near the town centre and then we learned from a few restaurants that they were not accepting walk-in customers. While our little one continued to complain about his hunger, we managed to secure a table at L'Atelier Terre & Mer.

Smoked duck breast, honey roasted figs – Today is the hottest day of our trip so far, and understandably, nobody feels like eating. I am kicking things off with a simple salad of smoked duck breast, rocket leaves, mixed peppers and honey roasted figs, which was finished off with balsamic vinegar.

Caesar salad – Jelloman decided that she simply wanted a Caesar salad as her main dish. This came with breaded chicken fillet, poached egg, cherry tomatoes, red onions, parmesan chips and homemade Caesar sauce.

Sea bream, summer vegetables, piquillo pepper coulis – As the name of the restaurant implies, it's a place known for its land and sea dishes so time to switch to some seafood dishes at this point, starting with little one's grilled sea bream. He reported back saying that he didn't like the intense piquillo pepper coulis on top.

Lobster roll – For me, I just wanted to simple lobster roll with toasted brioche, lobster meat and fresh chives. Not bad.

Crème brûlée – The lunch set, featuring the duck breast salad and sea bream, also offered a choice between three desserts and little nugget promptly decided that he wanted a crème brûlée. I thought that was a pretty smart choice.

While the food was decent (though not outstanding), the service was almost non-existent. I had to repeatedly drag myself to the reception counter, from placing the order to settling the bill, just to get someone's attention. Even when a server was present, their demeanor came across as indifferent and unfriendly (giving us the feeling that they do not like serving foreigners). For me, this was the worst dining experience of our trip so far.
