Ukiya Kiyomizu Kiseian 有喜屋 清水吉晴庵 (Kyoto, JAPAN) ★★★☆☆

I have already made lunch plans for us in Kyoto a few months ago but the crew did not want to spend three hours on another fine-dining meal. So, we decided to go a different route instead. Something simple saving time for more sightseeing.

The only problem? There were only a handful of restaurants from where we stand and we ended up waiting close to an hour just for a bowl of soba noodles. To me, that's poor time management but last time I checked, I wasn't the one making the call.

Anyways, we finally got ourselves a couple of tables at Ukiya Kiyomizu Kiseian (有喜屋 清水吉晴庵). Good thing that we got the ground floor dining area all by ourselves (almost) so we could all relax and not having someone breathing up our necks.

Little nugget usually loves to watch the chefs work behind the scene but I guess not today. Not when he was starving for food at the moment.

While everyone decided to try the signature handmade buckwheat noodles here, I went with this tendon.

You can't go wrong with these golden crispy prawn tempura which has just come out of the boiling oil. So delicious and so addictive.

Before our late lunch, this guy almost passed out for not having a proper meal in more than 12 hours. But his old man came back with some take-away jumbo siu mai for the rescue.
