After an underwhelming spa experience near One Avenue (卓悦中心), we made our way back to the spacious mall in search of a spot for afternoon tea. Since it was a public holiday in Mainland China, nearly every restaurant and café was packed with people except for Nanxinghui Singaporean Food (南星滙 新加坡菜) which had more than a few empty seats available.
The perfect combination for a Singaporean afternoon tea, teh tarik and kaya toast!
Teh tarik (凍拉茶) – At first, the tea seemed a bit light in flavor, but after a few sips, I realized it was more nuanced and complex than I initially thought. Not bad.
Kaya toast with fresh butter (鮮牛油咖央多士) – I didn't like the fact that they cut the toast so thin.
I could barely taste the kaya jam on the ultra-thin toast.
