After checking into our hotel and dropping off the luggage, Jelloman and little one immediately peeled off for their dinner at Pokémon Cafe. For those of us (me and mom) who were not invited for dinner, we decided to step into the cold and check out some of the ramen shops in Shinsaibashi.
The first place we stopped by was one of my favorites in Shinsaibashi, Mugi to Tori (麦×鶏) but too bad they were still in preparation stage, so we ended up picking Tsujita Artisan Noodle Shinsaibashi (つじ田 心齋橋店), a ramen shop known for its tsukemen (dipping noodles).

Not many ramen shops have vending machines that take ICOCA cards or any transport card. Save me the trouble of carrying all these coins around. 👍👍
Rich broth ramen with seasoned soft-boiled egg (¥1,130) – The broth was made with seafood and pork bones producing a mix of delicate yet umami-rich flavors.
Like I always do, I enjoyed a sip of the broth first before moving onto the noodles.
Not surprisingly, the perfectly chewy noodles worked well with the thick and rich broth.
The soft-boiled egg was a little less runny than I hoped and I thought the slices of barbecued pork (forgot to take a photo!) were a little dry.
While the supporting cast (marinated egg, barbecued pork etc.) could use a bit of improvement here and there, they have a solid foundation with their rich broth and chewy noodles. I think the rating of 3.04 on Tabelog might be a little harsh on them.
