We missed out on the chance to check out the popular pastries at bustling Kumonocha Cafe (雲ノ茶) last time we visited their Arashiyama (嵐山) outpost in 2023 but thankfully, we got another crack at it this afternoon.
We were on our way to Kiyomizu-dera and just happened to stumble upon this branch of Kumonocha Cafe at Kiyomizu Sannenzaka (清水三年坂).
Look what I found, their signature cloud-shaped mousse cake which was sold out during our last visit.
There's no way I would let this slip away so we quickly found ourselves a seat in their terrace.
An outdoor space just enough to fit the five of us.
Finally, I got my hands on their cake set (1,200 yen) with a piece of their signature cloud cake and a small matcha latte to wash it down.

Their wildly popular cloud cakes came with three different flavors, vanilla rose, matcha and strawberry.
This was the vanilla rose cloud cake featuring a silky smooth vanilla mousse with a delicate touch of rose jelly in the centre.
All the matcha beverages here are prepared using premium Uji matcha. Time for me to unwind and soak in the serene garden vibe.
