Le Petit Mec is a French bakery brand that I became acquainted with during my travels in Tokyo. They boast several locations in Kyoto, Tokyo, and Osaka, with their Hibiya (日比谷) store being particularly popular among locals and tourists. However, their recently opened doughnut shop in Shinsaibashi Parco is a totally different concept all together.
Le Petit Mec Donut in Shinsaibashi Parco focuses solely on doughnuts and gelato (or both).
I missed out on the pistachio doughnut from MILK DO dore iku? KITTE大阪店 when Jelloman mistakenly gave it away to little guy. Here's my second chance.
I was told that some of Le Petit Mec's doughnut pastries had been infused with sansho to allow the sweetness of the doughnut to stand out more.
This had the ideal texture of being light, fluffy, and slightly chewy but the portion of pistachio custard could have been a little more generous (or at least more evenly spread out).
