Butterfly Patisserie (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★★☆

My sister is back in town after a 7-year hiatus and following our dim sum lunch in Tsim Sha Tsui, I decided to bring her to Butterfly Patisserie for dessert.

Vanilla chocolate and salted caramel cake ($98) – I was just here a couple days ago for their newest winter creation, vanilla cake so I knew exactly what to get myself this time around.

This brought back memories of a chocolate dessert I used to adore two decades ago from a place called "Death by Chocolate" in Vancouver. It featured three decadent layers of chocolate: white, milk, and dark.

This vanilla chocolate cake came with exactly the same three layers of chocolate mousse. The texture of each layer was so velvety and rich, with subtle flavors from the infused salted caramel. Very nice.

I had a nice chat with my sister, something I haven't done for a long long time. Afterwards, we picked out a chestnut cake for mom and walked around K11 Musea a little bit. Then, it was almost time to head home as I still have a lot of packing to do for our upcoming trip to Osaka in just five days.
