JuniJib Dessert Korean Cafe (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★☆☆

Little one has been asking for his favorite macarons from Paul Lafayet for a while but I have been way too busy to accommodate his wish until we came across a Paul Lafayet Boutique at K11 Art Mall this afternoon. But no, I decided to introduce him to something new. Something I wanted to try out myself since April.

Opened back in April, JuniJib Dessert Cafe immediately went on my radar screen thanks to its unique concept of combining a Korean dessert cafe and fried chicken shop together in one.

The savory food menu which includes Korean-style fried chicken, fish cakes, ramen and snacks is served up on the right side of the cafe.

Of course, little nugget and I didn't waste any time finding ourselves in front of the dessert counter on the left.

Instead of Paul Lafayet's traditional French macarons, I wanted little one to try these ones. Ice-cream sandwich with macaron shells? Not quite.

He's so happy with his new "gift".

Three different flavors, from left to right, blueberry with cream cheese, chocolate vanilla and Oreo with cream cheese.

What made these so different from the traditional macarons (or ice-cream sandwich) is the filling in the middle. With the light cream cheese and oatmeal, it tasted much light and definitely not as sweet as a typical macaron. Not bad.
