Satay Inn at The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★☆☆

Our second last restaurant to shoot down at The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel is Satay Inn (沙嗲軒), a familiar name that we haven't heard of for a while. Jelloman made the booking at 8pm thinking we'd spend at least 6 to 7 hours at the Water World but we only managed to survive 4 before throwing in the white towel.

This has to be the most elegant Satay Inn we've ever visited. A long and well-decorated corridor led us to the dining room which we could hear buzzing from metres away.

I have to admit, I really miss my favorite dishes at Satay Inn since they shut down their branch at Royal Pacific Hotel early this year (after becoming a quarantine hotel).

Fried carrot cake – My favorite starter at Satay Inn and it was sooo gooood. The winning formula of carrot cake perfectly fried with scrambled eggs, shrimps and fresh chives working the magic again and there was the extra spicy kick that sent us home (more like hotel room) with a smile on our face.

Signature Hainanese chicken rice – For $198, the portion was more than a little small.

Fried kway teow – Like the fried carrot cake, this dish they always do so much better than the rest of the world (I'm talking about other restaurants in HK of cuz).

The flat rice noodles and egg noodles were nicely tossed with shrimps, thin strips of fish cakes, Chinese sausage, fried egg and bean sprouts. It came with some extra spiciness and was noticeably more wet than expected but we were all too happy to have this again (so no complaints from me or Jelloman).

Comparing to the other Satay Inn's in town, this one offers a much smaller food menu but no complaints from us as we are all too happy to see the "Satay Inn" signage once again.
