The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel (Hong Kong, CHINA)

While staycations have become a big part of Hongkonger's lives during the 3-year battle with COVID-19, our family was still searching for our first-ever staycation experience. In the last few months, things heated up a bit and we threw around the idea of staying at K11 Artus and WM Hotel in Sai Kung but without pulling the trigger. I guess all of us were still dreaming about that perfect staycation and not settling for anything less. So, when I first got news about the grand opening of The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel, I knew I couldn't wait any longer.

Just like we drew it up, we arrived at The Fullerton Ocean Park around 11am. It was our first staycation so everyone was pumped up, especially this guy who's been secretly telling me that he misses staying at a hotel.

There are two places where you can do your check-in. At the reception counters on the lobby level or here, one level down where the hotel shuttle arrives at.

After enjoying some dim sum at Jade, the hotel's exquisite Chinese restaurant, we finally got the keys to our room! Little nugget wasted no time checking things out first-hand.

The big draw of The Fullerton Ocean Park is of course the ocean view from literally all of its guest rooms. I definitely won't get tired watching this.

Underneath us is another treat, the infinity pool which has been featured in almost every single lifestyle magazine in the last couple of weeks since the hotel's soft-opening.

Now the rest of the room. The king bed looks relatively small for its size. I almost fell off the bed a couple of times during my sleep (with little one applying pressure from his signature kick).

Little one decided to test out the mattress before we head off to Water World.

The well-appointed bathroom came fully equipped with a spacious bath tub.

Now off to the Water World, which is about a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

It wasn't the best day for outdoor activities with the occasional shower and strong wind.

But it really didn't matter for this kid. All he wanted was to get soaky wet and mission accomplished.

Not surprisingly, he was totally beaten up after his adventure. He fell asleep almost instantly after supper.

We needed to make advance booking for breakfast and in order to squeeze in a morning swim, we had to catch breakfast at a really early time slot.

Bread, bread and more bread.....

The lineup for fried egg wasn't as bad as I first thought.

Some piping hot dim sum. I wasn't in the mood for congee so perhaps some dumplings instead?

Our strategy worked!!! While everybody else was still enjoying breakfast, we got the infinity pool all by ourselves!!!

Needless to say, we needed to take a few selfies with the ocean in the background just like what the vbloggers would do.

What a difference eight hours made! Last night, it was raining cats and dogs but now, clear skies which was perfect.

Time for me to join the fun!

And just when I started to sit back and enjoy all this, people began showing up and same for the dark clouds.

Our one-hour swimming session finally came to a close (yes, there was a limit!) so we retreated back to our room. Little one had one final swim in the tub and sat by the window to soak in the vibe one last time.

It was truly a memorable staycation. The Fullerton Ocean Park, we'll be back very very soon. That's a promise.
