Ever since the start of 2021, we have not stopped sending out farewell messages or attending farewell parties for friends and coworkers who are leaving us for different reasons. At an astounding rate too I might add. Today, we are doing another round of farewell for a good family friend of ours who will be starting their new lives in UK in less than a week. Instead of doing something sexy, we decided to simply hit the beach to enjoy the recent relaxation of social distancing rules announced by the government.
Our destination was a familiar one for us as we used to come here all the time before the pandemic - Ma Wan Tung Wan Beach (馬灣東灣泳灘).
It started to get really crowded after noon time. I guess everyone missed the beach.

After playing with the sand for hours, it was time to hit the waters with the water pistol (a really big one we just bought last week!)...
A break from action after he got ambushed by a couple of older kids.
At last, the young men's battle finished with triumph. Everyone went away happy.
Of course, a farewell won't be complete without supper. Without time to freshen up, we went straight to the restaurant and enjoyed some simple Cantonese dishes together. It was nice to share a few laughs over dinner. The kids had a wonderful time together as usual and afterwards, they enjoyed a soft-serve at McDonald's before wrapping up our night.
We wish our good friends a very happy life in their new surroundings. There was a really sad and empty feeling when we really come to think about it. Little nugget lost a big brother and role model growing up and realistically, we will probably never see this family ever again as we will have very different life journey and challenges ahead of us in our separate worlds.
