Last time I sat down at a Tim Hortons for a sip of coffee and a tasty donut, it was 2013 when I made my long overdue return to Canada. Over the past 12 years, I’ve walked past countless Tim Hortons locations in different countries including most recently in Shenzhen, but I have never felt the urge to go in (perhaps cuz Tim Hortons in Shenzhen only offers bagels but no donuts).
That changed today.
While wandering the relatively quiet streets of Sinsa, I unexpectedly stumbled upon another Tim Hortons. The moment I spotted their display of donuts, I didn’t hesitate to step inside.
Ah yeah, the unmistakable aroma of Canadian coffee! Too bad it was already 9pm so I didn’t exactly need more caffeine at this hour.
Maple dip donut (₩2,300) – Simple, unpretentious and satisfying. Exactly what I needed before bed time.
Surprisingly, it wasn’t as sweet as I thought.
Sinsa-dong used to be such an amazing spot for shopping and cafe hopping. Let's hope it starts to get busy again soon.
