b. patisserie Central City (Seoul, SOUTH KOREA) ★★★☆☆

Like Hannam-dong, which we visited earlier this afternoon, Express Bus Terminal (고속터미널) is another place we haven’t visited in quite some time. As we still have a few hours to spare before dinner, I thought it would be a great opportunity for us to make the most of our free time and reacquaint ourselves with the malls connected to this bustling transit hub.

The first thing I did at Central City (a mall connected to the bus terminal) was to drop little nugget off at b. Patisserie

I started off my visit here by checking out their bakery selection which included their signature Kouign Amann in a variety of flavors.

I also got myself a slice of pecan pie (more on that later).

While little one was busy with his Roblox game, I took the chance to wander around the neighboring malls one after another. Surprisingly, I still recognized some of these coffee shops and eateries which were around when we were last here.

Jocheong Pecan pie (₩7,500) – I thought the crust was really nice and buttery but not really flaky enough. It was more crunchy almost to a point where it was a little hard. The filling, which was supposed to be sweet and gooey, was indeed sweet (thanks to the Jocheong, or Korean rice syrup) but it was less than gooey for me. The toasted pecans added a lovely nutty depth but the texture was a little harder than I thought.

All in all, decent but not memorable enough for me to go back for a second slice.
