My team took off for some action with the crawl machines after dinner so I got to spend the rest of the night alone. With a craving for something sweet, I decided to visit a dessert spot just across from our dinner venue.
Located on the ground floor of Hotel 28 Myeongdong, Cream Chic (크림시크) is the perfect retreat for anyone with a sweet tooth. Tucked away on Myeongdong 7-gil, it’s conveniently situated near the bustling shopping streets and directly opposite the famous Korean fried chicken alley.
On a Saturday evening, the café was absolutely buzzing.
The menu covers all the essentials and then some, highlighted by classic espresso drinks, iced and hot lattes, affogato-style coffees, teas, and even a few highballs for those looking to indulge. One standout drink is the Einspänner, a bold coffee topped with a generous layer of velvety cream — a rich and satisfying choice for coffee lovers. However, at 10:00pm, I wasn't in the mood for more caffeine.
The bakery selection was equally impressive, showcasing salt bread and an array of sweet treats that blend Korean and European influences, including the Yakgwa Donut and a sweet potato crumble financier. Other tempting options included their Basque cheesecakes and tiramisu.
I ultimately went with a comforting milk soft serve (₩4,000) to conclude my night. While sitting down to enjoy a dessert would have been a great way to wrap up my first evening in Seoul, this simple treat was just what I needed (before crashing early).
