Little nugget wasn’t ready to stand under the heat while he waits for his mom to finish shopping so the plan was to find him a spot with air conditioning to sit down and spend the next 10-15 minutes.
I went searching for an ice-cream parlor in the area but ended up finding a dessert café instead – Kaymak Dessert Cafe / Miikflo.
Kaymak Dessert Cafe / Miikflo is a tiny little café in between Hongdae (弘大) and Yeonnam. While the ground-floor area of the café houses its kiosk (more on that later) and kitchen, the dine-in area is located up on the mezzanine floor.
As a cashless café, all orders had to be processed through the kiosk.
While little nugget headed straight upstairs for the air-conditioning, I waited downstairs for our drink and dessert.
There was a lovely view from the windows overlooking Yeontral Park, which was apparently converted from an old railway.
Milk pudding (₩5,800) – The kitty shaped pudding looked so cute and was really full of milky flavor. I thought any kid would love it.
Strawberry yoghurt smoothie (₩6,500) – Pretty thirst quenching and that was especially important on a day when the temperature hit 31 degrees and it felt even hotter under the sun.
It’s been so long since we last visited Hongdae so there was plenty to see in the area. Too bad we didn’t have much time to spare as we still have a few more destinations to catch before moving onto Seongsu-dong (聖水洞).
