Tucked away just off the bustling cafe street in Hongdae, Cafe Samdacozy offers an immersive “Jeju in the city” experience across three beautifully curated floors. With its volcanic rock décor, mossy trees, and tranquil vibes, the space transports you to Jeju Island — without ever leaving Seoul.
The spacious cafe is cleverly divided into two main sections. The first-floor area serves a variety of popular drinks and desserts in a Jeju-inspired vibe.
The menu here is highlighted by the cafe's rich matcha latte and signature sweets.
The basement level is a hidden gem! Coffee lovers will appreciate the cozy coffee bar downstairs specializing in hand-drip brews. In fact, we nearly missed it on our first pass.
Guests are free to sit anywhere throughout the three-story cafe, including a lush, greenhouse-inspired garden that’s perfect for a relaxing afternoon.
Time for us to enjoy our Jeju-inspired retreat in the heart of Hongdae!
Jeju sweet corn cream latte – A surprising mix of savory Jeju milk ice-cream, crispy corn, and sweet corn cream topping a smooth latte. Not bad.
Matcha latte – I had a matcha latte myself. Made with Jeju-grown matcha, it had a deep, earthy flavor that was incredibly refreshing for a hot summer day.
Dol-hareubang (Guardian of Jeju) – A cute, pudding-style dessert shaped like the iconic stone guardians of Jeju. Flavored with black sesame, it had this unique sweet-and-savory flavor, and a glutinous rice-like texture.
We didn’t have a lot of time left to spend as our highly anticipated dinner at Born and Bred starts in nearly two hours. So, it was time to get more shopping done before hopping onto the subway again.
