Ramen Zundo Chatswood (Sydney, AUSTRALIA) ★★☆☆☆

Jelloman had a couple of things to take care of in Chatswood so for the first time on this trip, we're traveling to the north of Sydney. Chatswood is really not a bad place to be when it comes to food. We stopped by a number of shopping malls before ending our search at Chatswood Place

After a run of Chinese and Asian meals, we decided it was time to slurp some ramen.

Sydney is full of sushi bars but not that many ramen shops. At least we haven't run into many on this trip so our eyes lit up when we discovered Ramen Zundo on the first floor.

Gyokai Tonkotsu Ramen – When it comes to Japanese ramen, I just love a simple bowl of tonkotsu (pork based) or miso based ramen. Nothing fancy. This bowl of ramen with pork bone broth and dried bonito blend seemed to fit the bill perfectly.

Chicken Katsu Tonkotsu – Jelloman had this tonkotsu ramen which has been infused with
soy sauce, and served with chicken schnitzel on top. Like I said, I am just not a fan of ramen noodles with a lot of twist to it. Not my style.

Back to my tonkotsu ramen for a while. Despite the color of the broth that suggested a depth of flavors, I thought I could sum it up with just one word, "salty". There was no sign of the dried bonito.

The soft-boiled egg nicely done.

The fatty barbecued pork wasn't bad but just one small slice. Come on!
