17 months since my last visit to Seoul, I was struck by the realization that its dynamic food scene still continues to evolve rapidly after the pandemic with many new establishments making their mark in the city. Just when I was walking towards Sinsa-dong from Mingles, I happened to bump into another new place in Cheongdam-dong – Dunkin' Wonders.
Dunkin' Wonders is a new concept recently unveiled by South Korean Dunkin’ licensee SPC Group.
The two-storey flagship café features a trendy design, including an open kitchen producing hand-made doughnuts onsite along with a dining area with a revamped food and beverage menu which includes premium coffee and frosty milkshakes.
Of course, I had to check out some of these freshly made doughnuts.
Nutty full puff (₩4,500) – The new concept store also offers a wide range of low-sugar doughnuts including this one.
Its slightly wobbly texture reminded me a little of the popular nama doughnuts from I'm Donut?.
Let's see if this is as fluffy and chewy as I'm Donut?'s nama doughnuts.
The dough made with flour, wheat and egg was indeed soft and fluffy but definitely not chewy. The filling, I thought, was a mix of nutty flavors but it turned out to be peanut butter all the way.
This was so much better than the peanut butter doughnut I had at Dunkin' Donuts Tapdong in Jeju a few years back!
