Just when we thought we were done for the day, we happened to walk past Daimyo Soft Cream, a highly coveted dessert spot touted for its soft ice-cream in the basement level of Hakata Station. Of course, little nugget won't be making a happy trip back to our hotel without one of these ice-cream cones in his hand.
Like all the ramen shops in Japan, there's a vending machine right at the entrance of the shop.
Not a great deal of flavors but there are certainly some interesting ones there. I know little guy won't be having tequila soft serve!
His eyes lit up the moment he saw his milk ice-cream (490 yen) ready to be served.
This was really creamy and rich flavored.
But the star of the night belonged to this mont blanc ice-cream (590 yen). It's really velvety with incredibly rich chestnut flavor. I won't mind having this again before we take off for Kumamoto.
Daimyo Soft Cream has six outlets across Japan including one in Oita. I'm hoping that I could get at least one more crack at it before we head back to Hong Kong.
