Doughnut Time Borough High Street (London, UNITED KINGDOM) ★★★☆☆

After visiting Shangri-La At The Shard London, we have just two attractions left on today's agenda - Borough Market and The Millennium Bridge. But right before we entered Borough Market, one of London's most renowned food and drink Markets, I ran into a familiar face. Doughnut Time, a funky doughnut shop originated from Australia.

I had the pleasure of visiting one of Doughnut Time's many locations in Sydney when I was vacationing in the city back in 2017. That was the year they made their move to London too. The famed doughnut shop now has 14 branches in London, even have an academy (school to teach how to make a perfect doughnut) and catering service arm under its name so they're expanding pretty rapidly in UK.

It's nice to see they offer some vegan options too.

Of course, I won't be leaving without a couple of these.

The O.G. (£4.50) - Their original doughnut glazed with white chocolate icing. Something simple for little nugget.

Ice Ice Bae Bae (£4.50) - I opted for one of their vegan, gluten-free creations.

The chocolate chip cookie dough was topped with vanilla buttercream and vegan cookie pieces.

Not bad for a vegan option but the white chocolate drizzle was still a tad too sweet for me. Perhaps they could replace it with something vegan as well.

I remembered having some gluten-free French pastries at Helmut Newcake when I was in Paris last year and they replaced their custard cream with some sort of purée made with chestnut and walnut. And I could hardly tell the difference at all (except the texture). Perhaps something along that line?
