Dodin Biarritz (Biarritz, FRANCE) ★★☆☆☆

After a pretty busy day driving from Toulouse to Bayonne yesterday, we decided to spend a lazy morning in Biarritz. While Jelloman immediately kicked off her shopping spree at a certain brand-name shop that starts with the letter "H", I went to the beach, joined by mom and little nugget.

The Twelve Apostles? Not quite as impressive.....

Little nugget wanted to do some light jogging on the beach and it looks like I'm the one who would be running along with him (without my runner!).

Afterwards, it was time for some refreshment at Dodin Biarritz, a small cafe next to the casino with a fantastic view over the Grande Plage.

Dodin is a coffee shop that doubles as a bakery cafe offering a small selection of pastries and macarons.

Very nice relaxing vibe by the window overlooking the beach. I bet this place must be very popular comes summer time.

For a tiny little cafe that also operates as an ice-cream parlour, I was surprised to see a total of 28 different flavors. 28!

Pistachio and coconut, yeah that's weird combination. The pistachio one was particularly disappointing. Very artificial. I wasn't expecting Venchi-like quality but at least something a little more nutty would have been nice.
