We are spending the entire afternoon here at MixC World (萬象天地). Members from the other two families are still trying to get their feet wet with different things at the mall. In fact, the wives have just taken the kids to a playhouse and will be spending the next two hours there. The hubbies? We are going to have our guys' talk at a nearby Shake Shack.
Good thing we came here for our chat as they were having a limited-time-only chestnut shake using some of the best chestnuts from Tianjin (天津甘栗). Tianjin's variant of Chinese chestnut has always been considered as the most tasty and popular variant due to the weather conditions in the province so we're in for a special treat.
Chestnut shake (¥46) – I told them to forget about the whipped cream on top since the shake itself would be frosty and tasty enough for me. This came with extra chestnut bits and purée so it's really a chestnut lover's dream. The texture and rich flavor were amazing.
It was nice for the dads to sit around and talk about the kids in general. Of course, their performance in the recent assessment was part of the discussion but we also opened up on the development plans which were in the works to kick off this summer. I think we all agreed that a balance between academic and sports activities is important for their development.
