Well, this trip to Shenzhen (again!) was supposed to be for Father's Day so I didn't know why I was the one staying behind to pick big guy up from school today (on a Saturday) while everybody else got an early start in SZ. Life isn't always fair, I get that.....
Me and my baby, we did what we could by storming through the immigration. After taking the 5:15pm train, we made it to MixC World (萬象天地) (again!) at around 6:30pm. Very very efficient.
Our first order of business was to meet up with the gang but the aroma from Cha of Yulian (裕蓮茶樓) had us going the wrong way. 😜😜
Échiré sourdough egg tart (Échiré 黃油焦糖可頌蛋撻) – I have always wanted to check out their signature Échiré sourdough egg tart and since there was no lineup in front, I decided to order a few of these for our late-night snacks.
These were so yummy. The crust was crispy and flaky at the same time while the egg custard was richly flavored with a tad of smokiness. Very similar to what we got from Bakehouse in Hong Kong.
The egg tart was certainly very nice but I had less good things to say about their tea. I guess I'm not much of a traditional tea lover after all.
