Seolhamyeok 雪下覓炙 (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★☆☆

After spending the early afternoon at K11 Musea where little nugget attended his third bakery class, we ventured over to Harbour City to get some shopping done. I have dinner all planned out as well and it will be Korean BBQ, something we haven't done for a while.

This new high-end Korean BBQ restaurant called Seolhamyeok (雪下覓炙) recently opened next to Toy R Us where premium beef takes centre stage. In case you're wondering, the name literally translates to "great meat” in Korean.

The all-wood decor wasn't the only thing that caught our attention when we first came in.

The robot that helps to bring food out of the kitchen also got my little one all fired up!

It was a little early for dinner but since dinner service was banned after 6pm, we had no choice but to start grilling our Korean meat at 4pm...

First up, the side dishes...

And the main event - the "Supreme Beef Platter" ($258). This consisted of chuck tail flap (whatever that means), ox tongue, wagyu rib and shoulder butt.

I'm taking care of the naughty boy tonight so Jelloman was entrusted with grilling the meat for us next table.

This was just OK. A few of the cuts were a little more chewy than I would like. The ox tongue was surprisingly tender (despite its thickness).

Yeah, Jelloman's favorite Korean seafood pancake a must. I thought it was a little more tastier than the grilled meat if you ask me.

Korean Bibimbap - Very standard and no surprise there.

I was a little disappointed with the barbecued beef. The textures just let me down. But since we haven't had a Korean BBQ meal for ages, I will give it the benefit of the doubt.
