Croissant Taiyaki (Seoul, SOUTH KOREA) ★★★☆☆

In 2014, Croissant Taiyaki, a Japanese dessert brand invaded the streets of Seoul with their patented fish shaped croissants and created a huge buzz around the city.

These fish-shaped waffles with red bean fillings called taiyaki are available in any one of their 15 outlets in the city including this one in Myeongdong.

Croissant Taiyaki's modern take on Korean's century-old street food bungeoppang (fish bread) includes a special croissant dough and Japanese brown sugar, which was sprinkled on top to create a more crispy and flaky texture.

They also have a version with both ice-cream and red bean fillings.
