Kimchi Bus (Seoul, SOUTH KOREA) ★★★☆☆

The "Kimchi Bus" started off as a project to promote kimchi, one of Korea's most iconic staple food and after a global tour covering 77,000km and more than 186 cities, it's finally back in Seoul. For the time being, the red colored bus can be seen parked at the Common Ground, one of the city's newest shopping complex recently opened in April 2015.

Located near the Konkook University area (Konkuk University station), Common Ground is built with over 200 colorful shipping containers and is the world's largest mall built with shipping containers. Span over 3 stories, it has a total of 70 fashion stores, a street market, terrace market (mainly bars and restaurants) and food truck market. That's where we spotted the Kimchi Bus.

This famous food truck offers a small variety of Mexican food (mainly tacos) with a Korean twist.

The tables and chairs are lined up against the sidewalks in front of the truck.

We had the fries (₩10,000) with cheese, mayonnaise and kimchi chopped into something like a puree and it was kind of decent.

I am all into bringing back the food truck culture but they've gotta do a better job with their food first. For a better Mexican cuisine with a Korean spin, perhaps they can take a page out of Vatos Urban Tacos's exciting menu.
