DORÉ DORÉ (Seoul, SOUTH KOREA) ★★★☆☆

Common Ground, Korea's first shopping mall built from shipping containers is one of the hottest attractions in Seoul right now. Opened in early April, 2015, this new shopping paradise has been very successful in revitalizing the once-dead business district in Hwayang-dong area so far.

Rainbow cakes are huge in Seoul and the best place to get them is at DORE DORE, a café known for its fancy lattes and delicious treats. They have a very popular branch in Sinsa-dong and great news that they've just opened here at the Common Ground too.

DORE DORE café offers around a dozen handmade cakes and they are all named by an emotion (Happy, Thank you, Feel good etc).

The portions of these cakes are soooo big, no wonder that they're charging us ₩9,500 per piece.

I have never been a big fan of Rainbow Cakes ("Precious"). A simple cream cheese frosting with 6 thin vanilla cakes in the middle. How great can it be?

But surprisingly, it's pretty darn good. The sponge was very fluffy and light as air.

A trip to DORE DORE café without a latte? No way. They have an excellent vanilla latte here. Go treat yourself to one when you visit Common Ground next time!
