Bo Kin Milk Company 保健牛奶公司 (Macau, CHINA) ★★★☆☆

Hongkongers should be no stranger to the steamed egg custard and milk pudding from Yee Shun Dairy Company (義順鮮奶), a longstanding cafe offering traditional desserts in Macau. In fact, at one point, they had a number of branches in Hong Kong although only one was left standing these days (in Causeway Bay). But after checking with some of our friends who know Macau inside out, we learned that there was yet another dessert specialist in Macau by the name of Bo Kin Milk Company (保健牛奶公司) which is supposed to be as good as Yee Shun. We were here to find out if there's any truth in the comparison.

It took a while for us to finally locate their shop on Travessa da Felicidade (新馬路褔隆新巷), just off the iconic Rua da Felicidade (新馬路) and a short walk from St. Augustine's Square.

It looks like they have just hit the ground running after noon hour. 

Steamed milk pudding (雙皮奶) – This really looks a lot like douhua (豆腐花). Very soft in texture; perhaps a little too soft for my liking. But Jelloman seems to like it.

Steamed egg custard (冰花燉雞蛋) – I had their steamed egg custard and again like the steamed milk pudding, it was really soft and a little watery on the bottom. Personally, I like this to be a little more custardy.

After dessert, we walked back to Rua da Felicidade for a few photos before heading over to The Grand Lisboa Hotel (新葡京酒店) for our highly anticipated lunch at The Eight.
