With the little guy off to his school rehearsal, Jelloman and I had the morning and part of the afternoon free today. She came up with the wild idea of heading north of the border, and I guess I was just as crazy for agreeing to her plans.
After stopping by the arcade centre to collect some game cards, we were off to One Avenue (卓悦中心) for a late lunch at our favorite dim sum restaurant in Shenzhen – Tao Tao Ju One Avenue (陶陶居).
Stir-fried rice rolls with beef briskets (牛腩啫珍珠腸) (¥36) – Haven't had this for a long time and it was still as good as it was just as good as when we first tried it. The flavorful sauce worked so well with the stir-fried rice rolls.
Tao Tao Ju's jumbo steamed prawn dumplings (陶陶居大蝦餃) (¥39) – Tao Tao Ju's signature steamed prawn dumplings needs no introduction. There were plenty of diced shrimps and minced prawns underneath that thin wrapper.
Stir-fried choy sum with lard (豬油渣爆炒菜心) (¥39) – Yeah some lard to keep my tummy happy.
Pan-fried turnip cake (香煎蘿蔔糕) (¥29) – We got this for little nugget as Jelloman was feeling a little guilty about this trip. 😁😁
Roasted crispy pork belly (化皮燒腩仔) (¥79) – More food ordered for little one. This was pretty tasty although I would argue that the portion should have been bigger given the price.
We have another hour to burn before our train takes off for West Kowloon; I guess we're not going to have time for a foot massage but there should be plenty of time to get more shopping done around this area.
