We continued our journey exploring Ningbo after a brief stop at David’s Pastries and Bread (大衞麵包房) for breakfast. Our next destination, Tianyi Square (天一廣場) was already well within sight, with its entrance located right across the street from our breakfast spot.
Touted for its lively atmosphere, diverse dining and shopping options, Tianyi Square is a vibrant destination in the heart of Ningbo that offers a little something for everyone. Of course, it didn’t take long for all of us to find something we fancy.
While my team ended up sitting down at Naixue (奈雪的茶), I decided to indulge myself in a French dessert next door.
First opened in 2011, Sugar Report (糖紙甜品) is a dessert café that combines traditional Chinese sweets with the artistry of French pastry techniques to create a unique sweet experience. The brand currently has over 30 locations across China.
Some of their most popular offerings include their mille crêpe cakes, lemon tarts, and crème brûlée.
Cherry blossom peach gum milk custard (櫻花桃膠雙皮奶) (¥29) – They are currently doing a limited-time-only menu on cherry blossom themed desserts which included stuff like cherry blossom smoothie and mille crêpe cake. 🌸 But I already have my eyes all locked in on this one, Cherry blossom peach gum milk custard.
The East-meets-West creation featured cherry blossom flavored and shaped biscuits, peach gum, plain and cherry blossom flavored milk custard slices, cherry blossom popping candy and fresh mango. It was incredibly refreshing to have this on a hot spring day like today and I thought the subtle floral notes really helped to turn the refreshment up a notch.
I love the French café-style décor. This is a place where people can easily spend hours enjoying their desserts while finishing up a nice novel.
